--Overall, she had accepted her fate. She would never find love. Never find peace. Never find hope. So be it. That was her life. I'll have to make the best of it.--
That was her attitude towards most things lately. Life was worthless. So many had tricked and decieved her with false pretenses of love, she hardly remembered what the word actually meant. What love, trust, and faith felt like... She had experienced it once. After... Them. But now, looking back, it was like she had heard about it a story; experienced it from afar. She had heard it, felt it, but couldn't remember it any longer.
Even in the fading sunlight, her shimmering white coat stood out like a beacon of a thousand stars; hence her name. But with a head hung low, a tail dropped to the ground, and hooves that barely left the ground... Her beauty was greatly dimmed, to say the least.
Finally, she stopped to take one of the few drinks she had been able to have in the past few weeks. At first, because she hadn't had the appetite to eat or drink; now because there WASN'T anything to eat or drink. In fact, this land so greatly resembled her it wasn't funny.
It was breaking down, ever so slowly, from lack of water. Food was dying, and so things were dying, as was she. Slowly, ever so slowly, she was dying. Something was tearing at her heart, destroying her from the inside out. Not a tapeworm or a lukeworm, or anything. No, nothing that was LITERALLY tearing at her heart. It was a secret and a truth that could not be overcome. Something that made her just want to end it. And yet, as with this land, there was the Jaded Falls. A little bit of hope. Hope that was dwindling, but it was still hope, small as it may have been.
